Where Are We Without a Strong Family

Today is a different kind of day. I regretfully had to call my clients and tell them I am sick. I hate not showing up for work, especially when it lets the dogs down. But today I wanted to talk about my brother, he lives in Jacksonville Florida and I don’t get to see him as much as I should.

He’s a great guy and is the kind of guy who makes friends everywhere he goes. He is a member of a great church, and as you can imagine knows everyone at the church. He does a lot of free work for the church members and for the neighbors that live around him.

He has the nicest fiancé that you could ever meet. I love her to death.

He works trimming trees and shrubs at a “Jacksonville Area Tree Removal” which is very hard work but he loves it. He loves being outside in the fresh air and connected to nature.

He studied horticulture in high school and then he got a bachelors in horticulture in college. He is the pruning and trimming trees now but is studying to be an arborist. He headed up a tree removal crew for 2 years but does not like being the guy that’s in charge and taking all the arrows.

He still helps cut down the trees and slash clean up when they need him but most of the time he does pruning and tree trimming. He got very lucky when he got this job because he tells me he works for the nicest people and the best tree service in Jacksonville Florida.

He goes to night classes at the community college twice a week and he works on Saturdays. I can’t imagine being able to keep up with all that he does.

He’s a fantastic guy and he’s coming here next week. I have not seen him in 2 years, and I can’t wait to see him.

Sometimes Dog Walking Can Be a Real Challenge

I was walking along one day and I had 12 dogs with me at the same time, it takes a lot of skill to walk 12 dogs at a time.

The days I have to walk 12 dogs at a time are very difficult, these are the days that I’m overbooked. I then have been over booked a lot lately, because my dog walking service is very popular.

I’m going to have to hire some help soon, I don’t really want to hire help because you have to watch them and you have to tell them what to do.

I don’t really want to hire help but I might have to because I have too many dogs to walk. This is a dilemma for me because I wanna stay small, but the clients I have need their dogs walked.

If I don’t walk their dogs, They will never get walked And they will look out the window wondering why I didn’t come and walk them.

When I’m walking 12 dogs at a time it’s a challenge to keep up with all the dog poop. I have dog poop bags in one pocket and I can pick up the dog poop very quickly tie it and put it into my other pocket. I am so fast at it you hardly see me doing it.

I am like an acrobat when I walk 12 dogs and pick up the dog poop at the same time. Even though picking up dog poop isn’t fun, I still love my job like crazy.

Who knew there would be so much call for this type of business, I surely didn’t know when I first started.

Most days I do not walk 12 dogs at a time, the typical day is about 20 dogs but I walked them in groups of two or three. I can easily walk 20 dogs, and take them out for a full 35-minute walk and have them all done in 5 hours. I just walked two or three at a time and it’s easy.

I charge $10.00 to walk the dogs.  I have gotten so much business that I think I need to charge more because people are willing to give up $$ Instead of walking their dog.

This is a fantastic business if you love dogs and I don’t think there are very many people that walk dogs as a profession.

It is a service that many people need. I’m thinking about opening dog walking businesses all over the country in major cities. The only thing bad about the dog walking business is it doesn’t pay very much, so I will have to work out the numbers first.

If I train people how to do it the way I want it done, I could potentially open up in every major city. I will have to think about this for a while.

Hey ya’ll, my name is Dawn. I am 22 years old and I am a college student here in Houston, Texas. One day I am hoping to be a really amazing veterinarian! So, for right now I am just staying at home with mama and daddy while I take night classes. During the day I also work at a job that I absolutely love. I am a dog walker! I know it might not sound like much but I really love dogs and it puts a little money in my pocket while I am taking my classes. It is also a really great way to get out and see the beautiful city that I live in. Go Texans!! 🙂 Anyways, a little bit more about myself..Um, I really love dogs, all dogs(though I think I may love miniature pinschers just a little more. Shhhh, don’t tell the other dogs!!)!! I also really, really love to read and go out for live music. There is definitely no shortage of that here! I am single right now but hopefully one day some big, tall cowboy will sweep me off my feet. Anyways, I hope ya’ll are having a really great evening and I will talk more with ya’ll soon!!

Xoxo,

Dawn
